Here We Go Again!

Back in January of 2016 we had completed 2/3 of our mission here in Nurnberg, Germany. I remember reflecting that we felt a lot more at ease in our new country. We could pretty much get ourselves to wherever we wanted to go, could negotiate a grocery store fairly well and purchase what we needed. Labels in German were looking a little more familiar and we could tell what they were. Of course in January of 2015 we were still driving our car and having to worry about finding parking spaces, crashing, getting turned around, getting gas, finding car washes, and taking care of car repairs and maintenance, all of which were quite stressful. We no longer have to worry about those things. Public transportation here is great and easily available. We do A LOT more walking and climbing up and down stairs but we are all the healthier for it I'm sure.

We decided to have a fun New Year's Eve Party with the young Elders and Sisters as they couldn't go out anywhere for safety purposes, AND Sister Kreuzmeier♥. We  visited and worked on a giant 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle of Vienna.
This puzzle was extremely difficult. The pieces were all exactly the same size and shape and consisted mostly of huge areas of blue and gray. To help the hapless puzzlers they put a city map of Vienna on the back side. Poor Elder Clawson. I don't know how he could work upside down!

Still at work.
A view of our front garden area.
Notice the beautiful paper snowflakes, sent to us courtesy of the Miller family.

On the first day of January we had a very busy day; Zone Training at 11:00 AM,  a teaching appointment with one of our investigators, Stanley, an interview with our mission president, President Stoddard and  dinner appointment with one of our favorite families in our ward, the Preisses.
As usual, Sister Preiss had her table set so beautifully. The gold star doily in the center was tatted several decades ago and was beautiful.

Our sweet young sister missionaries, Sisters Hiatt and John, were there too. How we love them♥

Elder Hart and Sister Hiatt thought it would be fun to exchange glasses. I think they look better;-)

We had another one of our favorite families over for dinner, the Adamus. It was so fun to have a baby in our apartment and had so much fun with her. It had to have been a first. I had no baby toys so we had make do with measuring cups and spoons.

On January 4, we awoke to this beautiful scene. Nurnberg is so beautiful covered with snow.
